A calm, supportive environment for young learners
Why We Built Nimzo Academy
While working with young learners, we noticed a pattern. Many children were introduced to chess too quickly—focused on winning games, memorizing moves, and competing early—without first understanding the game or building confidence.
At the same time, parents were looking for activities that could improve focus, patience, and thinking skills—not just screen time or short-term results.
Less pressure, more understanding
Children learn better when they feel safe making mistakes.
Thinking skills before competition
We focus on decision-making, not just winning games.
A structured learning journey
Clear steps help children progress with confidence.
Nimzo Academy was created to offer a thoughtful alternative—where chess is taught as a lifelong thinking skill, guided by structure, patience, and care, both online and offline.
Our Teaching Philosophy
We believe children learn best when they are given time, clarity, and the confidence to think for themselves. Chess should support a child’s growth — not rush it.
We don’t rush beginners
Children start with strong fundamentals and move forward only when concepts are clearly understood. Progress is guided by readiness, not speed.
Every child follows a clear path
Learning is structured into simple, predictable stages so children always know where they are and what comes next.
Thinking matters more than winning
Children are encouraged to analyze positions, explain decisions, and learn from mistakes — building independence and confidence over time.

A calm learning environment where children are guided patiently and encouraged to think independently.

Founder & Lead Coach
A Coach Who Cares About How Children Learn
Nimzo Academy began with a simple observation — many children were being pushed to play chess before they were taught how to think through the game. I wanted to create a learning space where children could slow down, understand the basics clearly, and grow with confidence.
While the academy is founder-led, sessions are supported by a small, trained coaching team that follows the same philosophy and structured approach — ensuring consistency across both online and offline programs.
A Clear Learning Journey for Every Child
Each child progresses through a thoughtfully designed journey that builds understanding, confidence, and independence — step by step.
Comfort with the Game
Children are introduced to the basics of chess — piece movement, rules, and simple patterns — in a calm and encouraging environment.
Focus and Early Planning
Students begin learning planning ideas, basic tactics, and how to recognize common mistakes while playing.
Independent Decision-Making
Children learn to analyze positions, evaluate choices, and explain their thinking — turning mistakes into learning moments.
Calm Application Under Pressure
When ready, students are guided into competitive play with a focus on mindset, composure, and consistency.
Built on Care, Not Just Coaching
We understand that choosing an academy is not just about learning chess — it’s about trusting someone with your child’s time, confidence, and growth.
At Nimzo Academy, children are guided with patience and attention. Coaches take the time to understand how each child learns, where they feel unsure, and how to support them without pressure.
Parents are kept informed, questions are welcomed, and progress is discussed openly. Learning is treated as a shared journey — not a transaction.
